In order to gain access to the Fitness Center, all students, faculty and staff must present their Cougar ID Card at the check-in desk.

Concordia University Chicago’s Campus Recreation and Intramurals program strives to offer exciting, innovative and fun activities for students. These programs offered throughout the year are opportunities for students to interact with peers, make new friends and to become more physically active.

The Cougar Card is the official identification card for the students, faculty and staff of Concordia University Chicago.

It offers a convenient and safe way to make purchases and utilize campus services such as:

  • Food services: Serves as an on-campus meal ticket with Sodexo Campus Services. With it, students, faculty and staff can purchase meals and snacks in the Cafeteria, the Library Café and the Christopher Center Lobby. 
  • On Campus Printing: Copy, scan and print documents using on campus multi-function printers.
  • Door access: Provides access to outer residence hall doors for those students living on campus, and provides Fitness Center access to all students, faculty and staff. 
  • Library Services: usable in Concordia-Chicago’s library as well as all Illinois Public and Academic libraries.

Reporting/Replacing Lost or Stolen Cards

To obtain a replacement card, please stop by the Campus Card Office on the Upper Level of the Klinck Memorial Library, across from the CougarNet Help Desk. While there is no charge for the initial card or for damaged or broken cards that are produced for replacement, there is a $30 charge for replacing a lost card. For a stolen card, the replacement fee is waived if a police or campus security report is provided..

Take I-294 South to I-290 East.

Exit on Harlem Avenue (Exit 21B) NOTE: This exit is on the LEFT side, center lane of the highway.

Turn left (north) on Harlem Avenue (2 miles) to Augusta Street. 

Turn left (west) on Augusta. 

Turn right (north) on Bonnie Brae to the parking garage on the left side of the street.

Take I-294 North to I-290 East.

Take the I-190 East ramp towards Chicago Loop.

Exit on South River Road, exit number 1B.

Take River Road (stay in left lane) for approximately 5 miles to 1st Avenue. 

Turn right onto 1st Avenue. 

Take 1st Avenue to North Avenue.

Turn left on North Avenue.

Take North Avenue to Harlem Avenue.

Turn right on Harlem.

Take Harlem Avenue to Augusta Street.

Turn right on Augusta.

Turn right on Bonnie Brae to the parking garage on the left side of the street.

Turn left onto Cicero Avenue.

Take Cicero to Flournoy Street.

Turn left on Flournoy Street and then make a SLIGHT left to I-290 West.

Turn right on Harlem Avenue to Augusta Street.

Parking on Campus

Free parking is available for campus events. Visitors should park in lots designated specifically as visitor or special event lots.

Visitor parking is available from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. in Lot 3 (in front of Krauss Hall/Krentz Center) and Lot 5 (parking lot on north side of the Parking Structure).

Only those persons who are not employed by the University and are not registered for any current Concordia-Chicago classes are allowed to park in the designated visitor areas.

Overnight visitors registered through Koehneke Community Center (KCC) must receive a temporary parking permit from the KCC staff.
