Celebrate Historic Founders Day Weekend at Homecoming
Concordia University Chicago’s 150th Anniversary culminates Founders Day Weekend during Homecoming & Reunion Week 2014, Sunday – Sunday, Oct. 5 – 12. The historic festivities include the Inauguration of the University's 11th President, Dr. Daniel L. Gard with an Academic Convocation on Friday, October 10 and a Celebration on Saturday, October 11. The Sesquicentennial concludes with a Festival Worship Service on Sunday, October 12 at 4 p.m. featuring a choir of local school children, the Kapelle, and Guest Preacher LCMS President Matthew Harrison. A 150th Thank Offering will be gathered from individuals and congregations across the country giving honor to the University's contributions to the church and world.

Reception Salutes Artistic Heritage of Alumni & Faculty
Ferguson Art Gallery presents the 150th Anniversary Invitational Art Show now through October 12 with a reception for the exhibit’s 26 faculty & alumni artists on Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The 36-piece show features work of artists from as early as the class of 1945 through the current decade. Complimentary refreshments will be served. At noon, the reception will move to the West Annex to unveil a new work commissioned in celebration of Concordia-Chicago’s 150th Anniversary. Learn More >>

The captains of the '62, '63 & '64 football squads are gathering teammates to reminisce and celebrate past victories at a Team Dinner on Friday, Oct. 10 and Pre-Game Lunch on Saturday, Oct. 11. These alumni are also giving thanks for Coach Harry Brockberg by making a gift in his honor to Cougar Football and naming the 2014 Homecoming Game as “Coach Harry Brockberg Day.” Teammates and Cougar Football alumni can share their own gift during Homecoming registration. Athletic Hall of Fame Honors Tradition, Pride & Excellence
Space is still available to join the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame Celebration on Saturday, October 11. Honorees include John Felten '63 (basketball), Thurman Hendrix '99, MA '03 (baseball), Chris Rau '65 (football, basketball) and David Stellwagen '85 (basketball, tennis).
