A History of Success
Concordia-Chicago has a long history of participating in the education of Chicago-area nurses, with more than 1,000 graduates since 1982. Previous nursing degrees were offered jointly with other area universities and academic medical centers, which provided a majority of the nursing-focused coursework.
The University’s rich partnership history, paired with its exceptional new facilities and outstanding faculty, has allowed CUC to develop this four-year program that will ensure a seamless learning experience for students as they complete their BSN degrees.

When my grandma was sick, I helped take care of her and realized I like to work with people. By studying nursing at CUC, I'll be able to build a career that I enjoy while giving back to others. Nothing could be more fulfilling.

Interprofessional Practice Partnership
River Forest Fire Department: Our official practice partnership with the River Forest Fire Department allows for unique and innovative interprofessional collaborative learning. This relationship has grown beyond CPR skills attainment to a true collaborative partnership that enhances learning in the care of the adult, pregnant patient, pediatric patient, in end-of-life care situations and in emergent care in the community and hospital setting. Additionally, this collaboration has provided an opportunity for the nursing faculty and their firefighter/paramedic counterparts to work together in the development of the ENVISION summer nursing camp for pre-college age students.
Nursing is a unique, practice-oriented discipline that meets a societal goal. The science of nursing is concerned with critical thinking, problem solving and the application of knowledge. The art of nursing involves combining the science of nursing knowledge with interacting, caring and valuing. Through robust theoretical and experiential learning, students will meet the eligibility requirements necessary to successfully gain licensure as a registered nurse generalist through completion of the National Council State Board of Nursing Examination (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX, CUC nurse alumni will be prepared to assume the role of the registered nurse and help enhance the profession by becoming future nurse leaders. The Concordia University Chicago BSN Program has developed student learning outcomes to create a strong foundation for practice-ready nurse graduates.
