Concordia-Chicago Center for Entrepreneurship to host national entrepreneurship education advocate Karen Wolters10/12/2017
Karen Wolters, serial entrepreneur and national entrepreneurship education advocate, will share her story, “American Born, Globally Grown,” at Concordia University Chicago’s (CUC) College of Business on Oct. 19, from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m., in Krentz Hall Room 120. Admission is free. The presentation is part of CUC’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Speaker Series, which is open to the general public on the third Thursday of each month.

Reed Evans, founder and program director of Scale it Up! Sustainability, will conduct a workshop at Concordia University Chicago at the end of this month.
The Collective, the theater production company of Concordia University Chicago, presents “Wittenberg” by David Davalos. The play, directed by Andrew Pederson, will run Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 6-7 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 1 and 8 at 3 p.m., at the Madison Street Theatre, 1010 Madison St., Oak Park, IL.
Concordia University Chicago’s University Band will perform its annual Fall Family Concert on Friday, Sept. 29. Admission is free, and the concert begins at 8 p.m. in the University’s Chapel of Our Lord.

In the magazine’s rankings released today, CUC was ranked as a Best Regional University – Midwest, and listed for Best Ethnic Diversity – Regional Universities Midwest.
Stephen Brooks, CEO and founder of The Pop Up Retail Expert, will present, “Why Retail Is Not Dead Yet,” at Concordia University Chicago on Sept. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., as part of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s (CIE’s) Entrepreneurship Speaker Series.
In recognition of the Reformation’s 500th anniversary in 2017, Concordia University Chicago will host “The Reformation at 500: An Interdenominational Conversation” on Monday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Our Lord. Panelists at this free public event will be Cardinal Blase J. Cupich of the Archdiocese of Chicago; Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, president of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod; and Rev. Dr. Philip Ryken, president of Wheaton College (IL). Manya Brachear Pashman, religion correspondent for the Chicago Tribune, will serve as moderator.
Concordia University Chicago and the Chicago Literacy Alliance are proud to co-sponsor a celebration of International Literacy Day on the Concordia-Chicago campus on Sept. 8 from 4-6 p.m. Educators, parents and community members of all ages are invited to celebrate literacy as demonstrated in presentations, performances and interactive experiences.
