The Art of P. Solomon Raj to be exhibited at Concordia University Chicago


The Ferguson Gallery at Concordia-Chicago presents “The Art of P. Solomon Raj,” an exhibit of original woodcut prints by the artist and educator from Andhra Pradesh, India. Solomon Raj’s prints were created as special meditations for the Twelve Days of Christmas and are on loan from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Itasca, IL. The works will be on exhibit in the gallery from Nov. 23 to Dec. 27.

Concordia-Chicago and The Chicago Community Trust present free performance of "Soul Sisters"


Concordia University Chicago and The Chicago Community Trust will present performances of Soul Sisters on Friday, Dec. 4 and Friday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. The shows will take place at Oak Park Township Services, 130 S. Oak Park Ave. in Oak Park, IL. Both performances are free and open to the public.

University Band to host Christmas concert at Concordia-Chicago


Concordia University Chicago’s University Band will perform a Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Our Lord on campus. Admission is free.

Golden Apple Foundation recognizes Concordia-Chicago alumna


Concordia University Chicago alumna Phyllis LaCour has been honored with the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. This prestigious award is presented to 10 outstanding teachers in the five-county Chicago area every year. Award recipients become lifetime members of the Golden Apple Academy of Educators, which develops teachers with the ability and passion to make a positive difference in the lives of students.

Concordia-Chicago offers free coding tutorials during Hour of Code


To kick off Computer Science Education Week, Concordia University Chicago invites community members of all ages to campus for the worldwide Hour of Code on Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-7 p.m. 

The Collective theater presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream"


The Collective, the theater production company of Concordia University Chicago, is proud to present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The play is directed by Stephanie Stroud, with musical direction by Paul Scavone. 

Wind Symphony and Kapelle to perform home concerts


Concordia University Chicago’s Wind Symphony and Kapelle will each perform post-tour concerts this fall in the Chapel of Our Lord on the university’s River Forest campus. Admission to both events is free.

“Observations” exhibit at Concordia-Chicago features artwork inspired by urban life


Concordia University Chicago presents “Observations,” an art show that is free and open to the public. In this exhibition, Concordia-Chicago professor of art BettyAnn Mocek shares her latest drawings, mixed-media works, prints, photographs and video. The exhibit runs from October 5 to November 15 at the University’s Ferguson Art Gallery.

The Collective to stage “Other Familiars”


The Collective, Concordia University Chicago’s theater production company, is proud to present “Other Familiars” by Scott T. Barsotti. The play, directed by Jason Narvy, was commissioned by CUC as part of their ongoing relationship with Chicago Dramatists.

250 Concordia-Chicago Freshmen Participate in Service Day


As part of Concordia University Chicago’s freshman experience, more than 250 new students recently participated in a day of service. The event, which kicked off the school year, connected student volunteers with organizations and agencies throughout the Chicago area.
