Concordia University Chicago Ranked as a College of Distinction
Concordia University Chicago has been as selected as both a 2014-15 College of Distinction and Christian College of Distinction. The University has been part of a select group of colleges to earn this prestigious recognition since 2010.
According to Colleges of Distinction, the designation recognizes “schools that take a holistic approach to admissions decisions, consistently excel in providing undergraduate education and have a truly national reputation.” Colleges and universities named to the annual list are evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively on four primary factors: student engagement, quality of teaching, vibrancy of the campus community and success of graduates.
“Concordia-Chicago’s inclusion on the list is a testament to the University’s focus on providing a meaningful and relevant educational experience for our undergraduates,” said Evelyn Burdick, CUC’s Senior Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing. “For 150 years, CUC has prepared students to be successful servant-leaders in all aspects of their lives.”
High school college counselors and educators nominate colleges and universities for recognition by Colleges of Distinction. The colleges and universities are not ranked and instead are members of a consortium of other equally impressive schools.
“We focus on colleges that are deeply dedicated to students' learning,” said Tyson Schritter, executive editor of Colleges of Distinction. “Schools designated as ‘Colleges of Distinction’ offer innovative learning experiences that educate, nurture and transform students.”
