Professor Hanna teaches Applied String Bass to students studying in Concordia University Chicago’s Department of Music. As an accomplished pianist and orchestral bassist, she has performed across the Midwest with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chautauqua Ensemble, Rosewood Trio, Lake Forest Symphony, Elgin Symphony, Fort Wayne Philharmonic and the Milwaukee Symphony.

She served as the principal bassist with the Civic Orchestra from 1994 until 1996. During that time, she had the honor of working with distinguished conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, George Solti, Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez and Neemi Yarvi.

Professor Hanna also serves as a teacher at Illinois Wesleyan University the Merit Music Program and the Sherwood Conservatory. Among places she taught includes Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Birch Creek Music Farm and the LaGrange School District. For seven seasons, Professor Hanna was conductor of the West Suburban Youth Orchestra. She has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2009.
