Henry has received high acclaim for his performances across the United States. Following his first Carnegie Recital Hall performance for the La Folia Series, Guitar International Magazine said, “Paul Henry thoroughly enthralled the audience.” Recently, he was featured in Guitar One Magazine as one of the top 10 guitarists in the U.S.


In a series of masterclasses at the University of Southern California, Henry was a student of Andres Segovia. Segovia praised Henry for his “finesse and great sense of musicality with his instrument.” Henry’s recent projects include a recording and music publication of his own arrangements of music by the Spanish masters, ranging from the Renaissance to modern day composers. In the summer of 2007, Henry released “Echoes of Spain” featuring Spanish solos and duets performed with guitarist Arturo Guzman. He also has several other performers editions published by Hal Leonard.


As an instructor Paul Henry has been teaching guitar since the age of 15. Many of his students have gone on to become professional teachers and performers in all styles of guitar performance. His students, ranging from age five to adult have won prizes in many local, national and international competitions. He has conducted master classes at many colleges and universities throughout the United States and has been an instructor at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and at Roosevelt College Conservatory of Performing Arts and currently is on the faculty of Concordia University Chicago and the Metropolis School of Performing Arts in Arlington Heights in Illinois where he enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels of experience.

He has numerous publications and recordings to his credit including a best-selling method book for classical guitar Classical Guitar Method: A Beginner's Guide. This and all other publications are available internationally published by the Hal Leonard Corporation. Two new books scheduled to be released in 2021 are his new method book Classical Guitar for Kids” which is intended for young guitarists from ages 5 years and up and Book II Classical Guitar Method which follows his first method. His recordings and publications of The Twenty Studies for the Guitar, By Fernando Sor/ Segovia Edition, The 25 Melodic and Progressive Studies Op. 60 for Guitar by Matteo Carcassi and The Francisco Tárrega Collection have become staples for serious classical guitarists.
