Gildow teaches applied tuba lessons and lower brass techniques for music education majors at Concordia University Chicago.


Gildow is a native of southern Ohio, who studied under the tutelage of Michael Thornton, principal tubist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. During his master’s program he studied primarily with Charles Schuchat of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and Gene Pokorny of the Chicago Symphony. Among ensembles he has performed with include the Oak Park River Forest Symphony Orchestra, the Salt Creek Sinfonietta, the Lebanon Symphony and the Prairie Brass Band.
