Ruthrauff teaches at Concordia University Chicago, North Park University, Harper College and several other music schools in the Chicago area. Performances with numerous prominent ensembles have included the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Contemporary Music Ensemble MusicNOW, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Chamber Players and the Fulcrum Point new music project.


With an active solo and chamber music career, Ruthrauff has performed throughout the U.S. and in Europe. A prolific teacher, Ruthrauff has been invited to instruct master classes at institutions such as the New England Conservatory of Music, the University of Illinois and DePaul University. He has participated in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Armonia program at the National Museum of Mexican Art, where he introduces music to children of the Pilsen area.
