As a commuter student, you will be encouraged and supported in and outside of the classroom.
You will see how quickly your classmates become friends and the ease of involvement in service learning, volunteer programs and a variety of University student traditions. You have access to all the same resources as residential students—from meeting with faculty one-on-one to joining a student-led organization to taking advantage of the academic success programs. These resources and more are here for you to succeed at Concordia University Chicago.
The Commuter Lounge is a space for commuters on campus located near the ramp leading to the Library Cafe. While there are many good places on campus to study or meet with groups, this is the best spot to relax and watch some TV on the flat screen! If you are looking for a carpool partner, information and requests are posted on our carpool board in the lounge.
Lockers are located in the Koehneke Community Center (KCC), on the main level. Locker request forms are available in the KCC office, located to the right of the KCC Information Desk. Commuter students may choose any available locker but you must provide your own lock. Assignments are for the academic year only, so lockers must be cleaned out in May.
Additional lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the second floor of the Krentz Building.
Located within the Campus Store in the Koehneke Community Center, the Post Office handles all on-campus, federal and international mail. Stamps are available for purchase and other postal services are also offered.
Commuter students receive email notifications when they have mail to pick up, which can be done during normal store hours.
All commuter students receive $100 in Cougar Cash each semester, the cost of which is included in your student fees. There are other meal plan options available, created with commuter students in mind. For more information, visit CUC Dining Services.
