Connecting a World-Class Education to a World-Class City
Concordia University Chicago’s 40-acre suburban campus in River Forest is like a small town with a big backyard. Downtown Chicago is only 10 miles away and easily accessible by a 20-minute ride on public transportation–the “L” train. In Chicago you will find world-class museums and cultural arts, theaters, lakefront parks and entertainment from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to performances in Millennium Park.
The greater Chicagoland area is an extended, hands-on, classroom for CUC students. Professors regularly schedule classes at various Chicago area businesses to provide on-site learning opportunities and to become knowledgeable about specific internships. There are more than 30 Fortune 500 companies that connect education to potential work opportunities. Other classes immerse themselves in ethnic cultures while touring several Chicago neighborhoods where they visit cultural museums and authentic restaurants.
Ethnic Neighborhoods in Chicago
It's said that the world comes to Chicago and, over the decades, many of them have stayed to make this multicultural city their home. From Chinatown on the city's near south side to Pilsen and Little Village on the west side, families from Latin America, Africa and Asia are long-established in neighborhoods that combine to literally bring the world to your doorstep.
