Be a Concordia Scholar!
The Honors Program at Concordia University Chicago is designed for exceptional learners who expect more out of their educational experience. These exclusive courses provide a challenging and insightful curriculum that stimulates curiosity and maximizes your learning potential during your college career.
As an Honors Program student, you will complete a 12 credit-hour curriculum throughout the course of your Concordia-Chicago career. You may choose from:
- “Seminars in the Disciplines”
- Study abroad/semester-away opportunities
- Student-designed independent study senior honors projects.
If you choose an independent study, you’ll work one-on-one with individual faculty mentors and will present your work to the Concordia-Chicago community.
You will also be required to devote a portion of your time (30 hours) to community
service, which carries out the University’s mission of servant leadership. This experience will benefit you by expanding your networking range and could provide new resources for your projects.
Our honors scholars receive special recognition at commencement and are presented with a bronze medallion on a ribbon of maroon and gold. Your completion ofthe Honors Program will be noted on your final CU Ctranscript, which is a valuable distinction for future employers and graduate schools.
