Special Guest: Kurt Schwengel
Kurt Schwengel has been teaching Kindergarten in Santa Monica, CA since 1995, and is also a national presenter for a variety of topics ranging from technology to creative teaching. He is an “NBC Crystal Apple” winner, eHow education expert, Google Certified Teacher and SMUSD “Teacher of the Year”. His TED Talk “Occupy Kindergarten” has reached thousands of teachers across the country.
Schwengel will lead the session, “The Classroom of the Future” in which he will explore the topic of what your classroom and students will look and act like five, 10 and 20 years down the road. Join Schwengel on a journey that will peer into the future of primary education.
Guest Children’s Author: Stef Wade
Stef Wade used to write about cardboard boxes, but thinks writing books is far more exciting.
Wade is the author of A Place for Pluto, a 2018 Barnes & Noble story time pick, 2019 TXLA 2×2 Reading List Book, 2019 UK Summer Reading Challenge book, and a 2019 LITA Golden Duck Notable Picture Book.
Her newest picture book, Lance Cottonwood is Afraid to Fall, releases from Capstone in 2020.
Workshops will cover all areas of early childhood learning including:
