Campaign Goals
A GOAL TO...
Build –
Concordia's vision recognizes that all campus facilities must match the level of teaching provided in the classroom, the instruction over the Internet, the coaching on the field or the advising in the conference room.
Gifts toward capital improvements in this campaign will improve the fine arts instructional and performance facilities to every undergraduate student who is required to take a fine arts class as part of the liberal arts curriculum.
While capital improvements primarily to Kretzmann Hall will assure that accreditation by the National Music Accreditation Board is secure, 40 percent of the 2009 freshman class who declared fine arts as their major will benefit directly from this space, as will the community-at-large who participate and enjoy the performances and work of our faculty and students.
Grow –
A strong and growing endowment is a mainstay for the survival and health of every institution of higher learning today. Endowment is critical to balancing the budget, to innovating, to funding research, and to recruiting and retaining excellent faculty, staff and students. Invested and managed by professionals, a donor’s gift will produce income for years to come.
Giving to an endowment becomes a meaningful legacy to honor a loved one or respected leader and an investment in highly-valued purposes such as academic chairs, technology and equipment, new programs, scholarly research, salaries, special lecture series or student scholarships.
Inspire –
The health of a private university is reflected in its Sustaining Fund. Since tuition income alone does not meet the financial needs of the university, this fund assures that the very basic needs of the University are met – from lighting a classroom to equipping a science lab; from beautifying the campus to providing security to the entire campus community; enhancing salaries to offering sabbaticals and staff training opportunities; or providing ample parking to offering a stimulating life experience to our students.
The Sustaining Fund is essential to balancing an operating budget and unequivocally affirming Concordia’s mission to “equip men and women to serve and lead with integrity, creativity, competence, and compassion.”
