Heather Harder, PhD

Dr. Harder teaches graduate level reading classes for students at Concordia University Chicago. Her research interests include how nonverbal communication and environmental color and contribute to a student’s ability to learn successfully. Currently, she is working on a bibliotherapy project that examines how student’s emotional wounds impact their learning. She is also involved in women’s leadership and professional communication.

In addition, Dr. Harder advises undergraduate education students. Previously, she has served as the executive director of the Indiana University Northwest Early Literacy Academy and as an early childhood professor and program coordinator at Governor State University at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2008.
