Professor Herman teaches a variety of art courses including 3-Dimensional Art Studio, Sculpture Studio, Fiber Arts Studio, Book Arts Studio, Jewelry Studio, Liturgical Art Studio, and Art Methods. She is also the curator of Concordia University Art Collection where she maintains the inventory, oversees the hanging of art on campus, and schedules repair and restoration of artworks.

Prior to graduate school and Concordia, she was a Lutheran elementary/junior high teacher in Florida. Professor Herman joined the Concordia faculty in 2002.

More About:

Professor Herman's current project, “Artists and Their Art: Sharing Visual Stories,” is a curricula of comprehensive, grade-specific art history lessons for first- through eighth-grades. Over the last three years, Herman has developed these lessons that elementary educators can download for free beginning fall 2009. This project was made possible through the John and Frances Beck Foundation, which promotes literacy and learning among children, youth and adults.
