Concordia Experience

Campus Life

Concordia University Chicago offers many opportunities and genuine access to student organizations, athletic teams, service projects and more. Whether you start as a freshman or transfer into Concordia, our campus community is just the right size for you to get involved.

At CUC, you’ll become part of a close-knit community where you’ll be inspired, challenged and appreciated for your contributions.

Even before classes start…

You’ll meet your new classmates at the Jump Start orientation program, which helps make your transition to CUC as smooth as possible.

On campus…

As a resident student living and learning in community, you will easily make friends in your hall. Or as a commuter student, you will have special activities and events planned especially for you. Either way, you will see how quickly your classmates become friends and the ease of involvement in service learning, volunteer programs, and a variety of CUC student traditions.

Through clubs and organizations…

Choose from student activities like academic clubs, political groups, recreational clubs, religious groups, media clubs, service organizations and 11 musical groups where you can make an impact.

In athletic competition…

CUC fields 14 intercollegiate teams competing in NCAA Division III and offers 13 different intramural sports.

As you put your faith in action…

CUC’s Lutheran tradition cultivates the ideals of a Christian life. You’ll be encouraged to serve God and society in a way that makes use of your gifts and talents.

Around Oak Park and River Forest…

Just six blocks away are quaint, upscale neighborhoods with places you know—Gap, Caribou Coffee and Old Navy. On designated “CU at the Lake Theater” days, new release movies are just $3 all day with your Concordia ID!

In Chicago and beyond…

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to hear great music, see incredible theatre, eat out, and go shopping—not to mention find exciting jobs and internships in a world-class city.
