BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Studio and classroom experiences are just part of the learning experiences. Art students travel into Chicago to view art in the city’s world-class art museums and galleries while enjoying Chicago’s famous architecture. In addition, the Art Department schedules visiting artist presentations where dialogue between student and visiting artist is encouraged. Art students may use internship opportunities to gain practical experiences in the Studio Arts, Graphic Arts, and Arts Administration and art education students visit many classrooms and complete their student teaching semester throughout the city of Chicago and suburbs.
Bringing the region’s rich diversity of visual art to the Oak Park/River Forest and University communities is the Ferguson Art Gallery.
