Joint Nursing Degree Program - Offered by Concordia University and Resurrection University
Earn an affordable nursing degree from two national recognized institutions-Concordia University Chicago and Resurrection University. This unique program allows you to earn a bachelor of science degree while enjoying all the extracurricular activities and student support services provided by both universities.
The way the program is designed; undergraduate students will spend their first two years taking pre-professional general education and rigorous science courses at Concordia University Chicago. This will provide the foundation of success in applying for the nursing program at Resurrection University.
Resurrection University prepares its graduates for the unique challenges of a nursing career with an academically demanding program. Resurrection has one of the highest NCLEX-RN exam pass rates in the state of Illinois at 96%. This high percentage is credited to a student-centered model of teaching and learning that embraces active partnerships between student and teacher.
Upon completion of the program, you will receive a joint degree from Concordia University Chicago and Resurrection University. You will be awarded one diploma with both institutions listed.
General Course Information
Curriculum at Concordia University Chicago
At CUC, your coursework will include general education courses that are required to receive a bachelor of science in nursing. Your pre-professional coursework will include rigorous science courses, along with general education classes. These courses will provide a foundation for the rigorous subsequent nursing courses.
Curriculum at Resurrection University
The last two years of your courses will be taken at Resurrection. You are required to have a car to commute to the Resurrection University campus and to various clinical sites located throughout the City of Chicago and suburbs.
At Resurrection, your classes will focus on nursing and the fundamentals of health care. As part of your courses you will take seven-week courses in pediatrics, community health, mental health, older adult nursing, pharmacology and more. These courses will give you first-hand experience and knowledge as a nurse.
