  • On Saturday, August 25, 8 p.m., the English Club will see Shakespeare's Richard III at the Oak Park Festival in Austin Gardens. Email us if you would like to join English Club for this experience.

  • The Artists of Concordia Theatre present "In the Soundless Awe" co-written by Concordia professors Andrew Pederson and Jayme McGhan.

     This original production will be staged October 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m. and October 7 and 14 at 2 p.m.

     "In the Soundless Awe" is directed by CUC Theatre Professor Jayme McGhan.

  • On October 23, the English Club will hear Louise Erdrich's lecture at the Unity Temple in Oak Park. Author of 13 novels, as well as volumes of poetry, short stories, children's books, a memoir, Erdrich is a celebrated author whose work draws on her Ojibwe traditions and experiences. Erdrich will deliver this year's Barbara Ballinger Lecture, which honors Ballinger's 25-year career as director of the OP public library.

  • The Artists of Concordia Theatre will present William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," opening on Friday, November 9, with performances on November 10, 16, 17 at 7:30 p.m. and November 11 and 18 at 2 p.m. at CUC's Bergmann Theatre.

      "Romeo and Juliet" is directed by Concordia University Chicago Professor of Theatre Jason Narvy.

  • On Saturday, November 10, Loras College will host Streamlines, an undergraduate conference on language, literature, and writing. Abstracts for individual papers and panels are due October 10. On Wednesday, September 19, Dr. Smith will lead a roundtable on applying to conferences, writing abstracts, and preparing conference papers and presentations. The roundtable will take place in the lower-level lobby of the West Annex at 4 p.m.
