Resident Assistants

Resident Assistants on pillar stepsThe Resident Assistant is the core of the Student Services Staff in the Residential Hall.  The Resident Assistant is directly responsible to her/his Residence Hall Director, the Director of Residence Life, and the Dean of Students.  The Resident Assistant is responsible for creating a climate conducive to the accomplishment of the institution's goals ‑ educationally, developmentally, spiritually and socially.  The Resident Assistant is expected to adhere to the mission of the University.  Although it is not expected for a Resident Assistant to be of any set race, creed, sex, or level of status, it is expected that, as a Resident Assistant, you are tolerant and respectful of everyone.

 Maturity, rather than grade level, shall be stressed, although first year students will not be considered for the position. The Resident Assistant is a full‑time student, and, as such, must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 or better while still fulfilling all the responsibilities of the position.
