Jump Start

Welcome to the Concordia University Chicago community!

Many offices have worked together to bring you Jump Start, CUC’s orientation program for new and transfer students. By attending Jump Start, we hope you will meet new friends, find out about the resources available to you at CUC, complete all the practical aspects of your enrollment as a student, and find your place in the CUC community.

As part of your Jump Start experience, we want you to meet us and each other! We believe strongly in the personal connections everyone makes as members of the CUC community. The Jump Start program provides ample opportunity to meet each other through social events for parents and students. Many student participants even find they connect so well with someone at Jump Start, they decide to room together in the residence halls. Parents and students will also have the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, and current students throughout the program.

In addition, you will learn about our academic expectations and opportunities for involvement both inside and outside the classroom. Each family has appointments built into the schedule to allow them to complete all the practical aspects of the enrollment process and students will meet with academic advisors to create their class schedule. Most importantly, you will learn how we work to fulfill our mission to equip “men and women to serve and lead with integrity, creativity, competence, and compassion in a diverse, interconnected, and increasingly urbanized church and world.”

In advance of your Jump Start program, do not hesitate to call your admissions counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or one of the staff in the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement if you have any questions. Parents and families can find more information about the Jump Start program here. We look forward to meeting you!
