General Admission Requirements:
- Complete general requirements for admission to the Professional Instructional courses as listed above.
- Submit the application to the College of Education.
- Have attained a passing score on the piano proficiency test.
- Obtain a recommendation by the music department based on personal qualifications and suitability for teaching K-12.
BME General Education Core (36-38 hour)

- At least one course in history, literature, philosophy, or an interdisciplinary course in the Humanities category.
- Recommended: Music Theory and/or Music of World Cultures may be used for up to 6 semester hours towards course requirements in humanities.
- Social/Behavioral Sciences (9 hours)
- Choose courses from at least two different disciplines including anthropology, political science, psychology, sociology, or an interdisciplinary course including these areas.
