SALVATION ARMY CORRECTIONAL SERVICES

The Salvation Army Correctional Services assists men and women who are incarcerated successfully transition home during the last few months of their prison sentence. The Salvation Army is accepting interns for the spring semester. Interns will learn about the program history and have the opportunity to learn about the various departments and programs offered. Students will shadow with security staff, assisting in pat downs, medication dispursal, while learning the daily activities and movements of the residents. Interns will also learn about the intake process and help prepare new residents entering the program by copying fingerprint cards, organizing intake binders, and making room assignments. Applicants must submit to a background investigation and be available to work at least two days per week, five hours each day, Monday-Friday between 8-5pm.

- Various justice-related organizations, such as Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression
- Local Police Departments
- County Probation Departments
- Juvenile Detention Centers
