Internships in Psychology

Seniors have an option to do an academic internship for their capstone.

The internship is a synthesis of the psychological principles learned in coursework applied in a hands-on practical skill building experience. Interns develop as professionals throughout the expereince, reflecting on strengths and weaknesses.

Psychology internship can be done in a variety of settings including afterschool programs, high school guidance office, retirement homes, residential facilities with high risk youth or developmentally disabled adults, in the human resource office of non-for-profit organizations, at police departments, with social services agencies in various different programs.  We can help students tailor their internship experiences to maximize the learning potential within potential career areas.

These internships are arranged in advance with Prof. Amy Barth according to an established timeline.

Psych majors can find internship application materials on the portal, under the academics tab.
