Greetings!

We are delighted that you are interested in studies within the College of Business.  On behalf of all our Business faculty we wish to welcome you!

This is a particularly exciting time at the University!  This year is the inaugural year for the establishment of the College of Business.  New faculty and administrators have been appointed and include:

  • Walter Catlow, Dean, who served as Ameritech’s (now AT&T) executive vice president as well as president of Ameritech International where he directed $12 billion in the company’s international investments.
  • Professor Marnee Fieldman, Assistant Dean, joins Concordia after a successful career in consumer products marketing with Unilever.  She brings experience from the London School of Economics, her CPA background and graduate education from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.

A Concordia University Chicago education makes a difference.  CUC business graduates have opportunities.  Recent graduates have accepted positions with Morgan Stanley, IBM Global, Bank One, Chase Bank and Marriott Hotels, to name a few.

Undergraduate Study

Are you interested in finance, management, economics, marketing or accounting? Then a business managment major may be for you! Concordia’s business management major and minor are well-rounded and based in the tradition of the liberal arts. Concordia students not only take classes in accounting, computer science, economics, marketing, and finance, but also in English, psychology, mathematics, and art. Expertise in business, combined with knowledge in a variety of other areas, is the reason our graduates are well-rounded and able to move into many occupations.

Graduate Study

As part of the new College of Business, we are in the process of creating a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in a variety of areas. Our first concentration, Banking and Financial Institutions, began with a group of students in January, 2008. Our program promises to deliver flexibility and convenience as well as personal attention.  Please contact our Executive Director of Graduate Admission and Enrollment Services, Deb Ness (708/209-3115 or deb.ness@cuchicago.edu), if you have any questions regarding Concordia’s MBA program!
