Biology students can participate in consortium experiences through the university's membership in the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area (ACCA). In addition, The Chicago Botanical Garden, The Field Museum Of Natural History, The Shedd Aquarium, and The Museum Of Science and Industry are some of the outstanding institution of interest to biology students.

The highly in-demand field of microscopy is for those interested in science, solving problems and analyzing samples on a microscopic scale. Applied Microscopy, offered by Concordia University Chicago in partnership with The McCrone Group and the College of Microscopy, offers an unprecedented opportunity to learn from world leaders in the field.

Chemists, chemistry, and the chemical industry will play central roles in addressing our world's 21st century challenges. Along with our degree programs and internship opportunities, Concordia science students take advantage of:

  • Consortium-type seminars and botany course experiences through the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area (ACCA). ACCA is an association of 15 liberal arts universities promoting collegiate education in the sciences through its member colleges and government laboratories and institutions such as Argonne National Laboratory and Chicago’s renowned Shedd Aquarium.

  • Experiential opportunities through the Concordia University Chicago Student-Operated Undergraduate Laboratory (SOUL) program. For example, Aqualytica is a community outreach water-testing laboratory through which students provide analyses of local water samples—and gain real-world experience in the process.
