CU Serves

Why?

1. Glorify - When we allow God to use us, we give him glory.  "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:16

2. Worship - When we serve those who are in need, we are serving Jesus himself. "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" - Matthew 25:4

3. Purpose - There are many ways to serve, but all service is for God. Life has meaning when we live it the way God intended. "For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. " - Colossians 1:16

4. Blessed - Our God is a generous God who blesses us extravagantly when we seek to serve others. "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." - John 12:26

5. Perspective - Service involves us in something bigger than ourselves, opening our eyes to the truly important things of life. "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread." - Proverbs 30:8

6. Inspire - As motivated by Christ's love, our service not only blesses the recipient but inspires others to serve as well. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." - Hebrews 10:24
